In January 2019, #TherapistConnect was born from a single tweet put out by Dr. Peter Blundell. Shortly after, in February 2019, #traineetalk founder Caz Binstead joined forces with Peter coming together to run weekly discussions for students of counselling and psychotherapy, forming the first #TherapistConnect project.
Since then much work has gone on at #TherapistsConnect including the creation of the specific twitter account, the expansion of the network amongst both UK and worldwide therapists, as well as further projects such as the #TherapistsConnect podcast (available now on Apple and Spotify). An equal amount of input from Caz and Peter has been put into the platform over these past months of lockdown, and as a consequence they have formed a partnership. Whereby Caz and Peter run #TherapistsConnect, we very much see it as a community and that all therapists are an equal part of it.
Many people have messaged us with thoughts and ideas about increasing connections across the community of worldwide therapists. We realised that to achieve some of those ambitions we needed some help!
Therefore, we are putting out a call for anybody who would like to volunteer for us. This might be anything from doing small bits of admin work, helping us run our very busy twitter account, bilingual therapists who can help with tweets from across the world, people who could assist in transcribing our podcasts and other broadcasts, or other opportunities - including, for students who partake in #traineetalk. Anything that you think our community would benefit from - if you would like to help and think you have something to offer, we would love to hear from you!
We are determined to offer as much free content as we can for therapists, bringing people together and highlighting pertinent topics and campaigns.
If you think this is something that might interest you, you are very welcome to contact us on our #TherapistsConnect private Twitter account, or email us via email@example.com .
We are bowled over by the success of #TherapistsConnect and continue to thank you for being part of our community, and for all the wonderful discussions that are had under our hashtag.
We have exciting projects coming up which we will be announcing soon. In the meantime, do get in touch if you would like to be more involved.
May thanks and best wishes to all, #TherapistsConnect Team
