Sovel Cunningham Signs Publishing Deal with That Guy's House!

One of Sovel Cunningham’s earliest memories is that of her late mother being dismissed from work because she had spoken the truth. There and then Sovel made a promise to herself that when she grew up she would make sure no one would be dismissed from work for the same reason. Many years later, Sovel came to realise it was actually the intention behind the truth that mattered the most, and their values. Sovel searched firstly outwardly and then inwardly to find a way to articulate this, and to support others to support themselves. She initially used this “knowing” in her previous office life, sharing her insights through in-house discussions, workshops, mentoring, coaching and speaking opportunities. As this aspect of her continued to grow she walked towards her true self, consciously connecting with her unique gift, purpose and life phrases: "Just Being Me", "Truth Speaks" and "Catch Yourself". In doing so her voice and words of poetic wisdom were given the soil and channel to flourish and share.

Her debut poetry collection, Marshalled in Ranks - The Rearrangement of Words invites us in to revisit and reflect upon our own knowing, which we may have temporarily paused from through the fog of life. It’s not just a book to be read but to interact with, if you are seeking your own answers to your life. Her poetry, prose and elongated snippets of thoughts unpick and rearrange the complexities of life into simple, yet profound solutions to understand and move forward into the wholeness of self and life itself.
